We are honored to serve the residents of San Luis Obispo County with non-hazardous, solid waste collection services. Together, we can improve the quality of life we share by source-separating materials for proper reuse and disposal.
Cart Service
On your scheduled collection day, please set your carts out by 5:30 AM, placing them 3 feet away from each other and 3 feet away from cars and other property.
Please do not contaminate any cart with unapproved items.
- Blue Cart - Recycling (not bagged)
- Green Cart - Organic Recycling (not bagged)
- Gray Cart - Trash, remaining non-hazardous solid waste (bagged)
Cart Sizes: 32 Gallon (trash only), 65 Gallon and 95 Gallon

Additional Services
Bulky Items
Please call 805-543-0875 or request via online form the removal of bulky items such as mattresses, couches and appliances. There are extra fees for this service.
Cleanup Weeks
Twice a year, we collect additional trash at no charge for residents of most service areas, except the City of Morro Bay and unincorporated San Luis Obispo County. Check the Schedule page for details. Restrictions may apply.
Construction Materials
Coastal Rolloff, our sister company, can handle all of your construction waste collection needs.
Used Oil
Contact us for oil and oil filter collection service.
Extra Material Pickup
Extra charges apply any time your trash, recycling or green waste exceeds the capacity of your cart. For example, when the lid won’t close or items are placed by the side of carts.
To schedule an extra pickup, call 805-543-0875 or request it online. Extra pickups occur on your regular collection day.
Unaccepted Materials in all Containers
- Hazardous Waste - The SLO Integrated Waste Management Authority outlines what items are considered Household Hazardous and where they can be dropped off in San Luis Obispo County.
- Construction Waste – Take these items to the Cold Canyon Landfill or call Coastal Rolloff at 805-543-0875 to schedule a pickup.
- Dead Animals – Talk to your veterinarian or contact Cold Canyon Landfill.
Please bag all pet waste and place in the gray (trash) bin to go the landfill.
